Long Time Coming’ is Nashie Enterprises debut album and with lots of inspiration and hard work it is intended that there will be many more. The inspiration for the songs come from a wide range of places, people, and events.

‘Just Another Day’ – Nashie has a mate, ‘Coogee Bear’, who he regularly passes on the highway. His truck is called ‘Tired and Emotional’. The idea came to Nashie of writing about the bug deflectors on the trucks. Nashie’s brother-in-law was a truckie and loved his food, hence the ‘Tucker Truck’. Sadly he passed away in 1999. This song is dedicated to Russell, with fondest memories.

My ‘Old Mate Ted’ was a resident in the Nursing Home where Nashie works. He inspired Nashie as he was a man with serious medical problems but never complained.

‘Let the Canefields Burn’ – a classic track by Graeme Connors.

‘My Wife, the Motorist’ came about by listening to a family group and observing their driving skills. No offence was taken…..

Nashie wrote ‘It’s Not Time’ in 1994 about his Aunt Mary – a wonderful lady. Unfortunately, she did not get to hear it. The lyrics tell it all.

‘Long Time Coming’ really describes how Nashie’s music has evolved over the years, from listening to the Beatles and the 70’s supergroups (with only a hint of country) to the gradual transition of the country tunes of the 80’s and 90’s.

‘Just Sittin’ Back’ tells of the relaxed lifestyle we all would like to live and enjoy, even if we have to wait until we go on holidays or retire. Thanks to Greg for the great lyrics.

Harry Thompson moved to Port Macquarie in the early 60’s after winning the lottery in Warren NSW. He settled at Shelly Beach in his caravan and stayed there until he passed on in January 2000. Driving back from Tamworth and hearing on the airwaves that Harry had passed away got the Nashie creative juices running for the song – ‘Remembering Harry’.

‘Goodooga League’ was a ballad written by Don Lillyman from Walgett. A true story, so it was included on the album as a novelty song.

‘Let Your Love Flow’ – a great Bellamy Brothers track.

Watching a documentary gave Nashie the idea and words for ‘Face of a Beauty’ about the modelling world.

‘Country, Pop, Blues and Rock’ tells about the way it all began for Nashie, growing up in the music scene, the reasons he plays, and the way he feels about country music today.
